Greetings Dunamis Community! The Dunamis team is sending you warmth, good health, and inspiration as we get back into the swing of things in this new year. We are back to our weekly Resource Roundups, and as always feel free to forward us any upcoming events, opportunities, and anything else you want amplified to the Dunamis community.
  • Grant: Virginia A. Groot Foundation

    • The Virginia A. Groot Foundation offers three grants to artists who have exceptional talent and demonstrated ability in ceramic sculpture or sculpture. Applicants must be 21 years old and is open to all artist levels, but is not eligible for students. Grants are $20,000, $30,000, and up to $60,000.

  • Opportunity: True Colors OUT Youth Theater

    • The Theater Offensive is currently recruiting creative and talented queer youth and allies between the ages of 12-19 for their Spring 2022 True Colors Troupe Devising Ensemble. True Colors Troupe is a paid after-school program for LGBTQIA+ youth and allies who work with teaching artists to create and develop skills in performance, social justice, and community activism.

  • Job: BAMS Fest Managing Director

    • BAMS Fest is seeking a Managing Director who will be responsible for the overall success of the organization. S/he/they partners, manages and inspires a talented and dynamic volunteer and paid staff, ensuring programmatic relevance, strategic operations, planning and direction, and fiscal oversight.

  • Opportunity: Call For Art: Healing Justice

    • The New Art Center presents Art as Salve, which asks the question – how might art function as a holistic intervention for survivors of generational trauma and violence? This show will have work on view in-person as well as in our virtual gallery. During the exhibition we will have a panel discussion with artists and health practitioners.

  • Grant: National Endowment for the Arts Project Grant

    • Through project-based funding, the program supports public engagement with, and access to, various forms of art across the nation, the creation of art, learning in the arts at all stages of life, and the integration of the arts into the fabric of community life. Applicants may request cost share/matching grants ranging from $10,000 to $100,000.

  • Opportunity: MacDowell Fellowship

    • About 300 artists in seven disciplines are awarded Fellowships each year and the sole criterion for acceptance is artistic excellence. There are no residency fees. Need-based travel grants and stipends are available to open the residency experience to the broadest possible community of artists. Artists with professional standing in their fields, as well as emerging artists, are eligible to apply.

  • Workshop: Arts and Business Council Upcoming Workshops

    • Don’t miss out on two amazing upcoming workshops including “Get on Board” with Jim Grace as he covers the basics of serving on a nonprofit board and “Nonprofit Incorporation Seminar,” which will cover the basics of incorporating and/or filing for tax exempt status.

  • Grant: Boston AIR 2022

    • The Mayor’s Office of Arts and Culture invites artists, organizers, and cultural workers practicing in all disciplines to apply to a 15-month-long residency with the City of Boston. Artists receive $37,000 in artist stipends and up to $10,000 for project materials.

  • Grant: Live Arts Boston

    • The LAB Grant supports Greater Boston area artists to test ideas, explore collaborations and build skills in the process of generating new, original work. We invite performing artists, small performing arts organizations, bands, groups of artists, producers and presenters in the Greater Boston area to apply today.  LAB provides up to $15,000 in project-specific funds to create, produce or present new performing arts work for Greater Boston audiences.

  • Workshop: Making it Public for MA Artists

    • NEFA invites artists in Massachusetts to participate in Making it Public: for MA Artists, a free 5-week virtual workshop series designed to support artists of all disciplines in exploring and expanding their public art making practice. At the conclusion of the workshop series, participating artists will be better equipped to respond to a Call for Temporary Public Art and foster more vibrant and equitable public spaces through artmaking.

  • Opportunity: Nominations for Newell Flather Award for Leadership in Public Art

    • For the past two years, NEFA has annually awarded two Massachusetts-based artists, curator, and/or arts administrators who embody different aspects of leadership and are contributing to more just, vibrant, and welcoming public spaces and public life through the evolving field of public art. Each receives an unrestricted award of $5,000 in celebration of their leadership and impact in the public art field.

  • Grant: National Dance Project Production Grant

    • Funded by the New England Foundation for the Arts, NDP Production Grants are made to projects led by professional choreographers or companies to support the creation and U.S. touring and/or sharing of a new dance project.

  • Grant: Resist Grant

    • Funding focus: grassroots organizations led by those most impacted by intersecting systems of oppression, that are working to advance justice and liberation. Max award: $4,000.

  • Workshop: Assets For Artists Spring Workshops

  • Grant: National Endowment for the Arts Creative Writing Fellowships

    • This program offers $25,000 grants in prose (fiction and creative nonfiction) and poetry to published creative writers that enable the recipients to set aside time for writing, research, travel, and general career advancement. This program operates on a two-year cycle with fellowships in prose and poetry available in alternating years. In 2022 we are accepting applications in poetry.

  • Grant: Mass Development

    • Collaborative Workspace grants support innovation centers, incubators, makerspaces, artists’ spaces, collaborative kitchens, and coworking spaces to accelerate the pace of new business formation, job formation, and entrepreneurial activity in communities. Fit-out grants: up to $100,000; Seed grants: up to $15,000 for planning.

  • Grant: National Endowment for the Arts Challenge Grant

    • Challenge America offers support primarily to small organizations for projects in all artistic disciplines that extend the reach of the arts to populations that are underserved. Challenge America features an abbreviated application, a robust structure of technical assistance, and grants for a set amount of $10,000.
